WRITING WORKFLOW

A World Anvil alternative for novelists drafting inside their story world

Compare a public world wiki with a manuscript-linked story bible. Follow a manually recorded location event to its linked scene.

Try the border-crossing scene

A reader-facing atlas needs navigation and presentation. A working manuscript needs a quick way back to the scene that established a fact.

How the workflow works

Who will use the world?

World Anvil supports world articles, interactive maps and campaigns for readers and players. It suits a setting people should be able to explore independently of the manuscript.

Where did this happen in the book?

In Loomworld, keep a location card and link it to a scene. Place a related event on the timeline and connect it to the chapter. You can return to the linked scene when a later chapter contradicts the date.

Try a single border crossing

Choose a place whose ownership changes. Record who controls it before the crossing and which scene establishes the change. Revisit the next chapter from the point of view of someone who missed the news.

A chapter-linked timeline event gives you a route back to the draft. World Anvil offers free entry and paid Guild memberships. Check the current tier for the sharing and privacy features you need.

Try one session

  1. 1

    Choose one place

Pick a location that changes hands in the novel. Keep its reader-facing article in World Anvil for comparison.

  2. 2

    Connect the change

Create a timeline event for the transfer and associate it with the chapter.

  3. 3

    Return to the draft

Follow the chapter-linked event and check whether the prose establishes who now controls the crossing.
